Roland J. Regan, Jr.; J.D., MBA, M.Ed., A.B.
Mr. Regan is the Executive Director and CEO of the National Childhood Obesity Foundation, Inc. in Marblehead, MA. Earlier, he was a Principal and Senior Associate with the management consulting and executive training firms of North American Group Worldwide, Inc., and Harbridge House, Inc. both respectively in Boston, MA. Mr. Regan focused and developed an expertise in the areas of executive and professional management development and training; policy development; strategic planning; brand marketing; contracts and licensing; public relations; program management; cause marketing; entrepreneurship and innovation; and event development. His clientele included Fortune 1000 companies, small and minority owned businesses, and several European municipality sport venues and healthcare facilities. Even earlier, Mr. Regan worked as a Contracts and Licensing Consultant for Hercules Aerospace/Simmonds Precision in Vergennes, VT. Earlier still for a brief period, he was an Assistant District Attorney with the Essex County D.A.'s office in Lynn, MA. Even earlier still, he was honorably discharged after serving nearly five years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force assigned to the NATO AWACS program as an Acquisition Officer at Hanscom AFB. He holds a Juris Doctorate degree focusing in corporate law and a MBA degree concentrating in marketing and finance with honors from Suffolk University in Boston, MA, a master's degree in administration and policy from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, an A.B. degree with honors in economics and general management from Boston College in Chesnut Hill, MA, and graduated with distinction from the U.S. Air Force Officers Training School in San Antonio, TX. During a portion of this undergraduate and graduate school period, Mr. Regan interned as a Legislative Aide at the Massachusetts State House in Boston, MA. He worked with several House committees and legislators on the research, development, and progression of legislation through its 2nd and 3rd committee readings before entering U.S.A.F. Officers Training School. Mr. Regan received several academic scholarships including Teaching and Research Fellowships while attending graduate school. During his college and graduate studies he interned at the Massachusetts State House working for Speaker Thomas McGee, Senator Carol Amick, and Representative Kevin M. Burke over a five year period. Mr. Regan has written and published an article on international marketing for the Sextant Magazine, and has co-written and co-published a book entitled "From Boston to Berlin" and an article entitled "Connecting Generations Through the Memory of the Second World War" regarding two immigrant sons World War II experiences for Purdue University Press, and the Sextant Magazine respectively. His professional and literary work has been profiled or featured by the Boston College Chronicle, the Boston College Magazine, the Harvard Graduate School of Education Magazine, the Suffolk University Alumni Magazine, the Sextant Magazine's 150th anniversary edition, WBZ-AM 1030 Boston MA, WZLX-FM 100.7 Boston MA, KDUK-AM 1010 Denver CO, the Lynn Item, and the Salem Evening News. Mr. Regan has taught and co-taught business law, marketing, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, and the business of sport as an adjunct faculty member at Harvard, University of Vermont, Boston University, Endicott College, and Salem State College. He has traveled both professionally and personally throughout Ireland, Great Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Canada, Mexico, the U.S.A., and the Caribbean.
Denise J. Hurley; M.Ed., B.S.
Ms. Hurley currently serves as an Administrative Program Specialist for the National Childhood Obesity Foundation, Inc. where she manages and coordinates developmental and administrative activities for the Foundation. She is currently employed at Mullaly Associates, a psychotherapy practice in Marblehead, MA as the Clinical Practice Manager. Ms. Hurley's professional duties include overseeing patient intake and referrals, testing, systems management, billing, and other related management issues. She possesses over thirty years in public education in the Chelsea School System in Chelsea, MA where her positions were in administration, counseling, and teaching. During that period, Ms. Hurley served as an Administrator of Special Education and as the Director of Human Services. She has also held counseling positions as a School Psychologist and Crisis Intervention Counselor. Ms. Hurley is also employed with the Tri City Mental Health and Retardation Center in Everett, MA as a licensed addictions counselor where she evaluates clients for substance abuse programs. She holds a M. Ed. degree in education with a specialty in school psychology from Boston State College, a B.S. degree in education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA and post-masters graduate degree studies in clinical counseling and addiction treatment.
