Kathryn A. Bowen; M.D., B.A.

Dr. Bowen is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Since arriving at the University of Arizona, she has been a member of the General Pediatric Section where she teaches and provides primary care pediatrics. Earlier, Dr. Bowen served as the attending physician in the emergency department at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital while a member of the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. Earlier still, she completed her pediatric residency at St. Louis University Medical School. Her interest in childhood obesity is the result of practicing pediatrics in a setting where a substantial portion of the patient population is not only overweight, but is also vulnerable to the long term health consequences of obesity by virtue of their ethnicity's and family histories. Dr. Bowen holds a M.D. degree from St. Louis University Medical School in St. Louis, MO, and a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. She is licensed by the State of Arizona and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
